Experiential Learning in Social Studies Classrooms |
|
|
Founded in 1921, the National Council for the Social Studies is devoted to advocating
social studies education. NCSS curriculum standards are a framework for teaching U.S.
and world history, civics and government, geography, and economics. The curriculum standards
ensure an integrated social science, behavioral science, and humanities approach for
achieving academic and civic competence. ArtHouse has proven effective in countless social studies classrooms - it's a versatile tool that makes learning fun for an exceptionally broad range of students. ArtHouse provides a convenient focus for projects and presentations. It promotes critical thinking and reflective personal interpretation. When kids plan and create graphical presentations - storyboarding - they're taking an important step toward deeper understanding. |
