La Ofrenda: ArtHouse Provides an Altar For Day-of-the-Dead Offerings
A traditional La Offrenda altar will be decorated with papel picado, and furnished with:
• candy (Sugar skulls are manditory! Coconut macaroons & tamarind candies are also popular.),
• Mexican-style pastries,
• a glass of something to drink,
• children's toys (particularly toy skelatons and spinning tops),
• candles,
• marigold flowers,
• images of the Virgin Mary,
• and a photo of the deceased loved-one.
