Mary's report on New England Thanksgiving Traditions
Mary (grade 3) doesn't just draw buildings. She's more interested in human events and
relationships. The scenes she illustrated in her classroom presentation on Thanksgiving
traditions seem full of contrasts and comparisons, which we understand led her into a
discussion on historical misinformation and ambiguities. We're impressed by her clever
utilization of images (apparently) downloaded from the internet, printed in black and
white, "colorized", and superimposed on disarmingly simple drawn backgrounds.
