Susanna (age 9) - Reston VA
What's more ironic than the term "slumber party"? We're told Susie and her
friends recently celebrated a birthday by dressing-up in costumes and taking
campy digital photos. They experimented with the same trick photography techniques
they see in their magazines. They created ArtHouse storyboards with print-outs
of their pictures.
If you look closely, you can see here how a larger picture of Susie's head was
cut-out and playfully superimposed over a smaller picture of her body.
The background is pretty fun too - it appears Susie discovered she could layer
strips of colored vellum to produce the illusion of brightly painted walls
reflecting in a waxed floor. Very cool!
